As our Onsite Physician Advisor, you'll be at the forefront of improving patient flow, enhancing quality assurance, and championing best practices. You'll work collaboratively with our Care Coordination team, acting as a crucial bridge between medical staff and hospital administration to ensure every patient receives the right care, at the right time.
What You'll Bring to Our Team:
- Clinical Acumen: Leverage your medical expertise to guide utilization management, focusing on accurate level-of-care determinations and efficient patient progression.
- Strategic Leadership: Provide oversight of physician advisory services, chair key committees (like UM and CDI), and be a respected voice in discussions around quality improvement and risk management.
- Collaboration & Education: Serve as an invaluable resource and mentor for UM staff and attending physicians, offering guidance on medical necessity, documentation, regulatory compliance, and effective resource utilization.
- Impactful Contribution: Drive initiatives in denial prevention, revenue integrity, and value-based care, directly contributing to the financial health and operational efficiency of our facility.

Qualifications
Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited medical school
Required Licensure and Certifications:
MD or DO licensure within the state of employment
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Board Eligible in the area of clinical practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board Certification in area of clinical practice (ABMS)
- Minimum of five years of clinical practice experience.
- Three years of experience as a Physician Advisor and/or other leadership experience in acute care settings with focus on utilization management and quality assurance and improvement.
- Utilization management experience as chair or as a member of an UM oversight committee. Leadership involvement and/or management experience of quality ssurance. Management experience in care efficiency and throughput in acute care hospital settings.

CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. CHI St. Alexius Health offers a comprehensive line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including: a Level II Trauma Center, primary and specialty physician clinics, home health and hospice services, durable medical equipment services, a fitness and human performance center and ancillary services throughout western and central North Dakota.
